For the second consecutive practice, wide receiver Ladd McConkey (rib) did not participate in practice for the Chargers. Per ESPN’s Kris Rhim, he worked out in the same manner that he did on Wednesday, working off to the side with one of the team’s trainers. This second missed practice likely means he won’t be available this week and that makes sense with the schedule ramping up in difficulty beginning in Week Three.
Edge rusher Bud Dupree was the only new addition to the injury report but the good
news it stemmed from a veteran’s rest day, not a new injury. Veteran defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson went from a limited participant on Wednesday with a hamstring injury to a DNP on Thursday, but that was also due to a veteran’s rest day. We’ll have to wait until Friday to see if he progresses from that hammy.
Cornerback Deane Leonard was limited for the second consecutive practice while defensive tackle Teair Tart progressed, going from DNP to limited on Thursday with an ankle injury.
Offensive lineman Trey Pipkins and safety Elijah Molden also missed a second consecutive practice, as well.
