Today, the North Carolina Courage announced the hiring of Mak Lind. The club will officially introduce their new head coach at a future press conference.
He is the third head coach in the club’s history.
“I am extremely excited and humbled by the opportunity to serve as the next head coach of the North Carolina Courage. This is a club with an incredible history and a clear expectation to compete for trophies. I’m very aligned with the system and style of play already in place and look forward to continuing to evolve it alongside the players and staff. I can’t wait to get started and for my family and me to fully immerse ourselves in this community,” said Lind.
Lind joins the NC Courage from Damallsvenskan’s (Sweden) club BK Häcken Women. He most recently guided the team to the 2025 Damallsvenskan title after finishing secon in 2024. Häcken also reached the 2023-2024 UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinals.
“We are elated to welcome Mak Lind as head coach of the Courage. He is coming off a championship season in Sweden and brings a long, proven track record of success that we believe will translate quickly to the NWSL. His background as a former professional player gives him a unique ability to connect with athletes, and he has demonstrated a clear commitment to teaching and implementing the proactive, possession-based style of play we value here in North Carolina.
“Our search was comprehensive and global in scope, and we are confident Mak is the right person to lead our technical efforts and help return this club to the championship standard it is built upon,” said Chief Soccer Officer Ceri Bowley.
Lind will begin immediately with preseason training camp already underway.
