With a bye week this past week for our Miami Dolphins, I asked the following question:
What do you want to or need to see from this team going forward? What specifically are you looking for from the players
and or coaching staff going forward? Is there something that you are looking for from a specific player, players, or unit for the remainder of the season? Are you still holding out hope for the playoffs, or are you all in on the tank for the highest possible picks, or do you fall somewhere in between?
Below are some of your thougths and answers-
THEphinz wants what we have not seen from this team in a very, very long time. Consistency!
Same as before. Consistency. Not this hot and cold team. Hot and cold is a reflection of coaching. If M² really wants to stick around, then get this team playing one way every week
sdphinsfan just wants to see the guys stay healthy and for the youngins to get their reps.
I want to see a healthy team down the stretch. If the games are somewhat meaningful, that’s even better. There are so many young players who are improving from what they were to start the season. Reps, Reps, Reps. You can’t replace the value from them.
Ejplaya agrees with sdphinsfan, get the young guys their reps and see what we have.
I just want to see our young guys develop. See where we are by the end of the year with jonah, grant, etc. See what holes we’ve actually filled do we can figure out what needs addressed in the draft/off season.
SlayerNation1 has some predictions and some questions to be answered.
4-7 and almost assuredly, will go 3-3 down the stretch to settle at a cozy 7-10.
“IN THE HUNT” 👌
-Yes, the Rookie development is interesting.
-Will Weaver do enough to get HC interviews – again or does He return as would be Interim for all of 2026?
-When mathematically eliminated, will they bench Tua and what does that mean?
-Will people surrounding Ross gain influence on decision making?
I definitely do not need to see anything else for McDaniel nor Tua. They are both regressing and are 3rd in their own division respectively. That won’t improve.
The reality, We fans are already facing the specter of yet another wasted season that won’t start until Sept 2026, and then almost 2 years before Season 1 of a rebuild starts. That doesn’t even account for what the other teams in division are doing.
I urge everyone (Ownership included) to continually remind yourselves of what the rest of the AFCE is doing when predicting anything Dolphins related, long term.
The NFL is difficult to make inroads as a 3rd/4th place team in division. Yes, you are afforded playing a weaker schedule, but that only matters when there is a change for the better in the inextricable NFL foundation of GM/HC/QB.
MIAMI235 just has a simple request for Mike McDaniel.
Good play calling!
StanleyDoyle1 has three simple things: discipline (which has clearly been lacking), development from the youth, and for Tua to step up and earn that giant payday.
I want to see three things:
1. Competency in Execution. I’ve soured on McDaniel because he has not instilled a sense of discipline and competency in the team. There are too many mistakes in basic phases of the game that give the impression that he’s lazy and doesn’t instill fundamentals in practice.
2. Evolution of Youth. For once, I’d love it if the Dolphins developed their own players instead of overpaying for players developed by other teams. I want to see our draft picks blossom, show signs of dominating, to give us something to look forward to next year.
3. Manhood for Tua. I want to see Tua become a man. He acts like a kid out there, seeking everyone’s approval, trying not to offend. I want him to evoke Marino screaming at Duper. I want to see him carry the team on his shoulders for once.
Dolphster just wants to see who cares enough to step up.
Really, what I want to see the most going forward is who is going to step up and show that they are both willing and capable of being important parts of this team next year. Despite the recent win streak and a couple of winnable games coming up, this is obviously not a playoff team this year. So let’s start seeing who is going to make their presence known in an audition for next year.
USMCFinzFreak wants to see the guys play tough and Mike giving up play calling in the future.
I want to see mental and physical toughness from the players to the coaches. If McD stays, I want to see him give up play-calling.
Molly Polly II is another looking for consistency, wants to see what Dulcich has, and for Fitzpatrick to continue to ball out.
1) Consistency…from Off n Def! Rite now we still are unsure which team is showing up each week. Play calling, discipline ball (penalties), Tua quick release!
2) Dulcich….big TE, gets open, challenges def to tackle him! Great teams have great TEs! Get the pigskin in his hands.
3) Welcome home Mincah…..I strongly believe he has impacted the game play of our DBs. Defense wins ballgames! Please continue the aggressive defense play..bring back the “NO NAME DEFENSE!” YEAH BABEEEEEEE!!!🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬
4) Playoff run remains a possibility!! Again, #1 stated above. Let’s go for it everyone else has counted us out! Who knows, just maybe Mr Kelly providing inspiration to our Finz!
dedstrk ends our selection of comments with a plea for the team to keep playing physical till the end.
I want to continue to see physical football. Tackling, running, blocking. I want to build that base of what a great football is supposed to be. If we can do that then I’ll be happy.
Well, that’s our random selection of comments this evening. As always, thank you to each of you who took the time to answer our question of the day. Please join us again tomorrow evening for another PQOTD.
