Jauan Jennings won’t go down as a legend for a storied franchise like the San Francisco 49ers, but he had some incredible moments during his tenure with the Niners. “Third and Jauan” came through when the team needed him most.
We’re going to look back on some of Jennings most memorable plays as a pro to determine which is our favorite. You don’t have to go too far back, as some of the biggest plays from this past season for the 49ers came from Jennings in the playoffs.
Even if you’ve watched that play 100 times, the throw is still amazing each time.
Jennings will always be known for his skirmishes with the other team, even if one cost him a shot at 1,000 yards:
Jennings pleading his case with Kyle Shanahan, and Shanahan’s smirking at the end, tells you how much he enjoyed that kerfuffle.
Speaking of Shanahan, he didn’t hide the fact that he believed Jennings would have been the MVP of Super Bowl LVIII. Jennings connected with Christian McCaffrey for a touchdown again in that game. He finished with four receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown.
What’s your favorite Jauan Jennings moment with the 49ers?
My answer: Jennings had a two-touchdown performance against the Bears in a lost 2024 season. He was more of a “splashy” receiver before then. During the Super Bowl run in 2023, he wasn’t used as much as some fans may think. He had big plays sprinkled throughout the season, but they were few and far between.
I’m going back to the Super Bowl. The timing and the execution were superb. Add in that it’s the biggest game of the season, and I think the answer is pretty easy:
