Bayern Munich’s recent 2-2 draw with Hamburger SV was a frustrating one for Die Rekordmeister, but among that frustration there was admiration, too, for the opponent’s impressive 18-year-old center back. Luka Vuškovic has been one of the most impressive players in the Bundesliga this season and proved it again on Saturday, scoring the goal to give Hamburg a point from the match.
Because this is Bayern, an impressive performance against Bayern from a notable youngster immediately kickstarted transfer
rumors. Furthermore, a Sky Sport reporter casually brought him up as a topic of interest to the league leader’s center back Jonathan Tah during an interview. As captured by @iMiaSanMia, Tah had some interesting thoughts to share on the youngster: “I think he’s really good for his age. We’ve had contact from time to time. He should keep going this way – keep working on himself, keep pushing. I like the energy he brings to the pitch – his confidence. That’s something I pay close attention to.”
Vuškovic certainly does not lack for confidence. How else would he have scored a scorpion kick goal this season? As he long he maintains that confidence and keeps developing at the rate he is, Vuškovic could be a very special player one day.
