Barcelona boss Hansi Flick offered a few updates after seeing his team move seven points clear at the top of the table following a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid.
Substitute Robert Lewandowski bagged a late winner on a night when Lamine Yamal once again starred for the visitors.
Flick admitted Yamal wasn’t completely happy after the match, despite the win, and explained why the teenager was frustrated.
“We controlled the game and got the three points, which was the important thing,” he said.
“Lamine Yamal
tried everything: he dribbled, he attacked, but he didn’t score
“He was a bit upset because it was a match with a lot of emotions, but it’s normal. Now he’s back in the locker room and he’s doing fine.”
Flick also shared his thoughts on Gerard Martin’s red card that was overturned by VAR at the start of the second half.
“I didn’t see Gerard’s incident on television. What I see live is that he takes the ball first, and for me, it’s not a red card,” he added.
The Barcelona boss also had a brief update on Ronald Araujo and Marc Bernal after losing both players to injury. He explained: “We’ll see about Araujo and Bernal tomorrow. The tests and the results. I don’t think they’re serious injuries. Let’s hope it’s nothing serious.”
