Maycon Cardozo could be approaching an important crossroads in his Bayern Munich career, with discussions over his future at the club expected to take place soon.
According to Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), the Brazilian winger, who recently joined Pini Zahavi’s management agency, will sit down with Bayern to discuss his prospects and the pathway available to him in Munich. One notable detail: Cardozo does not currently have a professional contract with the club.
For
now, the 17-year-old is concentrating on recovering from shoulder surgery. His immediate objective is to get back to full fitness and make a strong enough impression to earn opportunities with Vincent Kompany’s first team.
There could be an opening for him, too. With Luis Díaz occupying the starting role on the left wing, Bayern may have room for another option in the attacking rotation, potentially giving Cardozo an opportunity to push for the backup position.
The interest in his development is not entirely new. Several clubs inquired about taking Cardozo on loan last summer, suggesting that there is already external interest in the young winger.
Bayern now faces an important decision: give Cardozo a clearer pathway toward first-team football or consider other options for his development. His recovery and the upcoming discussions could prove decisive in determining what comes next.
