Four days after the Milwaukee Brewers finished off their sweep of the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night won their American League Championship Series by dispatching the Cleveland Guardians in Game 6 at Tropicana Field.
The Brewers last played in the Fall Classic in 1982, when they were an American League team, and have been around as a franchise since 1969. The Rays did not exist until 1998, and this is their third World Series, along with 2008
and 2020.
Neither the Brewers nor Rays have won a championship, which gives the 2026 Fall Classic a rarity — the first championship matchup featuring two teams who have never won a World Series since the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Kansas City Royals in 1980.
Game 1 of the World Series is Friday night at American Family Field in Milwaukee, with every game of the series a 5 p.m. PT telecast on Fox.
Today’s question is simple — Who are you rooting for in the 2026 World Series? Let us know in the comments below.
