Bayern Munich will be taking a whole new approach for the 2026/27 season, and they’re taking it a step further by installing a system that will prevent outsiders from watching their training sessions:
Around the new training pitch, which is currently under construction, almost 10-metre-high fence posts have been installed to shield the pitch from view – a kind of anti-spying privacy system will be installed in front of the fences. Numerous small electric winches have been installed at the very top of the posts, which will raise a long, thick steel pipe. The privacy screen will later be attached to this pipe, making it virtually impossible to see anything of the team’s secret training sessions.
Vincent Kompany personally inspected the progress of the construction work last Saturday after returning from Asia. The Belgian is accustomed from his time in England to training completely isolated from fans and other observers. More than any coach before him, he is determined to shield his team from prying eyes as much as possible. There will be no more glimpses of Bayern’s training behind closed doors.

If you may remember, English club Southampton were found guilty of spying on EFL Championship play-off opponents Middlesbrough ahead of their second-leg matchup earlier this year. Southampton were thrown out of the play-offs despite winning the match, with Boro getting the finals berth instead (and were defeated in the final).
This is a sign that Vincent Kompany is cooking up something behind the scenes, and no one is allowed to see it.
