Veteran defensive tackle Eddie Goldman reportedly headlined a workout for the New York Giants on Tuesday, perhaps as a possible replacement for Roy Robertson-Harris, who will miss the season with a torn Achilles.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported Goldman’s workout. Art Stapleton reported that it was part of a larger workout.
Goldman, 32, was a second-round pick by the Bears in 2015. He was with the Bears through the 2021 season, playing three years under current Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.
The 6-foot-3, 320-pound Goldman has had an interesting NFL journey over the past few seasons.
He chose not to play during 2020, the COVID season. He then played in 14 games for the Bears in 2021. He signed with the Atlanta Falcons in free agency before the 2022 season, but then announced his retirement from football. Goldman briefly unretired in 2023, but then left the Falcons again.
He played 17 games for Atlanta in 2024 after having missed two full seasons, then played in 13 games with six starts last season for the Washington Commanders.
