Raw airs tonight (Oct. 26) with a live show emanating from Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. This is the third episode of Raw during the four week build to Crown Jewel, which takes place on Nov. 7, probably in Saudi Arabia.
Big Cass found a new tag team partner who is way better than Enzo Amore
Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable has become the workhorse of Raw who is a good bet to have the best match on the show any given week. He’s winning most of these matches too, and even pinned the legendary Rey Mysterio in the Hall of Famer’s hometown of San Diego last week.
After the match ended, Big Cass and Ethan Page showed up to attack Gable, Mysterio, and Dragon Lee. The heels laid out the babyfaces to set up a tag team match tonight of Gable and Lee vs. Cass and Page.
“All Ego” has been looking for a title match against Gable for a while now, but keeps losing in the key matches where he might be able to earn such a title shot. Perhaps his luck will turn around tonight teaming with Cass, who has had some rotten luck of his own going up against tiny luchadors. Big’s recent losses have created a whole lot of speculation about his doomed singles push and WWE potentially reuniting him with Enzo Amore. But who needs Enzo when you got Ethan Page? Page is all around a much better pro wrestler than Enzo ever was, so I think Big is in good hands with his new partner for tonight.
Will the heels turn their momentum around tonight with a win over Dragon Lee and the best wrestler on Raw? Tune in on Netflix to find out.
The rest of the card
Becky Lynch vs. Stephanie Vaquer finally goes down tonight, and the winner is next in line to challenge Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Will Liv do the dumb thing that a lot of heel champions do by ruining the finish, and then being surprised when GM Adam Pearce books both challengers in a title match against her? WWE just ran a version of that play a few weeks ago in this same storyline, so let’s hope there’s an actual winner in this number one contender’s match. The Man has not won a match since April, so I think it’s time for her to go over.
The rumored “rare” stipulation that WWE is going with for with tonight’s Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria rematch is No Disqualification. I wouldn’t be surprised if this actually is a rare one for the women’s division since they still have a lot of catching up to do on the men. At any rate, Lyra and Bayley seemed to be playing a disturbing game of hide-and-seek last week, until Bayley finally found her. Let’s hope Lyra has a better plan tonight that doesn’t involve running away.
IYO SKY vs. Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez is booked for tonight in a non-title match. It sounds like SKY will earn a future title match if she wins. IYO already pinned the champ last week in a tag team match, so this non-title match feels like it’s just a way to kill some time for another week rather than a step that is truly needed.
Other stuff to keep an eye on
– The Bloodline finally stood tall over 946 last week thanks to World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns joining the faction war. Each side should be searching for a fifth member if the idea is to fight each other in War Games next month. Jacob Fatu could fill that role for The Bloodline if he returns soon from Jaida Parker running him over with a car. But what about the 946? And how does LA Knight factor into all of this?
– What does Liv Morgan have to say after Tiffany Stratton was seconds away from cashing in the Money in the Bank contract on her during last Friday’s SmackDown episode? Will Tiffy Time crash the show tonight to tease another cash-in?
– Je’Von Evans ran in to help Penta defeat Bron Breakker last week. Could we be headed to a match where Penta and Je’Von challenge Breakker and that dweeb Austin Theory for the world tag team championship? Does WWE creative even remember that these belts exist? As far as I can tell, The Vision have defended the belts zero times on Raw or PLE since winning the gold on the same July night where Montez Ford gave a security guard a lap dance that was too hot to handle.
– Speaking of WWE creative, what is the plan for Oba Femi besides never losing until he (probably) fights Roman Reigns for the world title at SaudiMania? Crown Jewel only has three matches official so far. Is there any pitch to get The Ruler onto the PLE?
– JD McDonagh’s giant head helped him pick up a win over Joe Hendry last week. Is McDonagh now a higher ranking member in the Judgment Day than his little sidekick Dirty Dominik Mysterio?
– With three women’s matches already announced for Raw tonight, is there anyone left for Lola Vice or Sol Ruca to fight?
– Does Danhausen plan to visit Raw tonight to hype up his Very Nice, Very Evil SmackDown later this week with Halloween approaching?
– Where the f*** is Crown Jewel? It looks like it’s still in Riyadh for now, which is really stupid, but indicates that TKO / WWE cares much more about money and stock price than the safety of its wrestlers and production team. Are Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and the Street Profits doing whatever they can to make sure WWE doesn’t bring them back until after the Saudi Arabia trip is over with?
What will you be looking for on Raw?
