Game notes
The Sharks come to Boston on a two-game wining streak. They picked up a win Thursday night, beating the Ottawa Senators 6-2. Tonight’s game ends a six-game road trip for the Sharks where they are 3-1-1.
It’s a fairly quick turnaround as the Bruins and Sharks will wrap their season series with tonight’s game just a month into play. The Bruins handed the Sharks a 6-3 loss in San Jose during the team’s successful road trip. In that win, Fraser Minten netted two goals and 13 B’s registered at least a point.
Will tonight be the night Morgan Geekie picks up where he left off scoring wise last season? While Geekie already has eight points in the young season, only one of those is a goal.
But in 11 games, the Bruins have shown a depth in their roster with only three players who haven’t scored yet this season. Out of that, two remain points while Nikita Zadorov has four assists. The Bruins also have five guys who have netted four or more goals so far. Overall, 11 players have multiple goals this season.
In the last five games for the Sharks, Celebrini has 6 points on two separate 3-point nights. For the Bruins, Pastrnak has 9 points in that same time frame, coming off a 4-point night Thursday.
Head-to-head 11 games in, the Bruins are second in the league in goals against, averaging just 2 goals against per game. The Sharks fall to the 21st with a 3.27 average. Both teams are 80.6% on the PK with the advantage to the Sharks on the power play at 25.7% to the B’s 22.6%.
See ya tonight!
