With just under a minute before halftime, Eagles safety Michael Carter took a big hit while he was trying to tackle Bhayshul Tuten, and came off the field. He was ultimately ruled out with an abdomen injury halfway through the third quarter.
Carter had six total tackles before leaving the game, and new Eagles DB Kenny Moore was put in at safety. DC Vic Fangio has
hesitated when it comes to putting Moore in at safety, often pointing to the veteran having so few career snaps at the position. Still, the Eagles aren’t really in a position to make better decisions thanks to other injuries.
Marcus Epps is still out with a injury, and the depth at the position pretty much stops there. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. being ejected early in the game doesn’t help things either. They’ll have to rely on Moore’s experience to offset his lack of playing time at safety, and hopefully Carter is able to return sooner rather than later.
Regardless, Howie Roseman has his work cut out for him in the coming days.
