UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett took an uncomfortable amount of abuse in his lopsided loss to Justin Gaethje atop the UFC 324 event last weekend in Las Vegas. In fact, the damage was so bad (see it here) that “Baddy” may need to take five or six years off from fighting to avoid permanent damage.
That’s according to No. 2-ranked lightweight contender, Arman Tsarukyan.
“He needs to take a break for five, six years after that fight,” Tsarukyan told Ariel Helwani. “He got dropped
like 15 times. So bad for his brain. He was stupid, now he’s going to be even crazier after this fight. Worst UFC fighter. He’s so bad. This trash can, he’s zero fighter. Not because I hate him, but because it’s real like that.”
Gaethje captured the interim title with his victory over Pimblett and is expected to fight lightweight champion Ilia Topuria in a title unification bout at some point later this year. That’s a fight that could have gone to Tsarukyan, but “Ahalkalakets” can’t seem to keep himself out of trouble.
“It makes no sense to even put Gaethje versus Topuria. It’s just waste of time,” Tsarukyan continued. “Gaethje, he’s good, but he got tired from the second round. He dropped [Pimblett] and he couldn’t stop him because he was tired from the first round. Paddy Pimblett, he has zero MMA skills.”
Tsaruykan will return at RAF06 while he awaits his next UFC assignment.
