The Green Bay Packers have been wearing their white helmets throughout practice this week, a signal that they’re going to suit up in their Winter Warning uniforms for the third time this season. Previously,
the Packers wore their white helmets and pants against the Washington Commanders and Pittsburgh Steelers, games that Green Bay won.
If you only watched primetime games this season, you’d think this is the Packers’ base uniform, as they’ve won it in two of their three night games (the only exception was their normal home uniforms against the Philadelphia Eagles). Outside of the West Coast, Houston, Indianapolis and Houston (which are getting Colts-Seahawks), everyone nationally will be able to get to watch the Packers’ upcoming matchup with the Denver Broncos on CBS this week.
There’s some poor kid who is going to come out of this season, only watching Green Bay in their most popular games of the year, and thinks that the team wears all white regularly. I do not like that one bit, considering the Packers’ base road uniform is one of the best looks in the league (if not the best).
Maybe I’m alone on this one, but I didn’t need to see the Winter Warning uniforms three times in a single year.
If you’re going to wear white helmets, at least make the middle stripe yellow.
What do you guys think?
