Barcelona star Ferran Torres was a happy man after scoring in Spain’s 4-0 win over Georgia in World Cup qualifying on Saturday.
Ferran scored his 23rd international goal during the game to draw him level
with Sergio Ramos and Alfredi Di Stefano, a fact that was not lost on the Barcelona star.
“A complete performance, we leave with a good feeling, we did a very good job as a team. It’s not mathematically certain yet, but we’re focused on the last match; we’re going to play to qualify. It depends on us,” he told TVE.
“Obviously I knew it, it’s a dream to be among the top 10 goalscorers and equal legends like Di Stéfano and Ramos. You should never stop being ambitious, so let’s go for more goals and climb up that list.
“[My goal] was a very good team play, it was so fast that I don’t even know who touched the ball, when Mikel touches it I go for it.”
Ferran and Spain return to action on Tuesday in Seville where they will, barring an incredible result, confirm their place at World Cup 2026.
