A German social media personality known simply as “Freddy” has taken the world (cup) by storm with his recent posts capturing his North American tour as FIFA’s global tournament unfolds. In the first week of June, he and a couple of friends embarked on a six-week adventure that would take them across the United States and Canada. The expedition has now brought the group to the Gulf Coast region, where they discovered what the city of New Orleans, its culture, and its sports teams have to offer.
Freddy and his pals admired the natural beauty of Louisiana before venturing out to the hustle and bustle of New Orleans’ famed Bourbon Street for some nightlife adult activities.
The trio had a late night in the Crescent City and missed an opportunity to try some eats in arguably one of the world’s top food cities. They settled instead for another southern chain staple.
The group was then invited by the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans for a tour of the teams’ facilities, where they got to interact with QB Tyler Shough, toss around an American football, compare the Lombardi trophy to their replica World Cup trophy, and were finally treated to some real Louisiana cuisine.
After visiting the city, Freddy and co. continued their trek to the bayous of south Louisiana, where they saw many wildlife while searching for the giant reptiles affectionately called “swamp puppies.”
Freddy’s trip to the Big Easy concluded with yet another stop at Bourbon, whilst some local traditions left the tourists confused. They watched the United States’ first World Cup match and reflected on the hospitality they received.
Have you followed along with Freddy’s travels? Do you think there is anything that the crew missed out on? Are there things that they need to come back and see? Let us know in the comments!
