We may be waiting a long time to see free agent signing and major trades this offseason, but we’ll get to go through award season before the lockout grinds things to a halt. The Gold Gloves were first to be distributed and Cody Bellinger got the first piece of hardware for a 2026 Yankee as the AL’s best defensive left fielder. Austin Wells and Jose Caballero both also were finalists in the catcher and utility roles respectively, but neither came out on top in the end.
There will be plenty more to
hand out before the year is done, as the 2026 Yanks had some impressive individual years even if the end result was disappointing. Cam Schlitter’s Cy Young Award case sits front and center, but it’ll also be interesting to see just how high he finishes in the MVP standings as well with a relatively weak crowd this year. Are there any particular standouts you think deserve a mention individually for showing up this year? If there were the baseball equivalent of the Razzies for the team, who would get yours? If you have questions like these, or anything else on your mind, send ‘em in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.
Answers will run on Friday afternoon. All questions received by the night of November 5th will be considered. You can leave your submissions in the comment section below or by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
