The Indianapolis Colts
are on the road to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars for week 8 of the 2026 season, kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. EST.It sure feels like last week’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings happened a lot longer than a week ago. The team traded away franchise cornerstone players Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner. More rumors swirled about other longtime Colts like Jonathan Taylor and Josh Downs. And as much as some of us would like, there’s no conceivable way the Colts will trade Daniel Jones,
sorry.
Despite the last week feeling like a month, it has only been seven days and that means the Indianapolis Colts will play another football game today. Today they have the first place Jacksonville Jaguars, who should heavily defeat our Colts. But it’s the NFL anything can happen once the whistle blows, but most likely Indy will be extending their losing streak in Jacksonville for another year.
Side Note: I told you about this last week but I’m probably going to keep reminding you each week because I think it’s important for everyone who enjoys these gameday threads. So what do we have to look forward to? Well I’m not sure about you but today I’m going to be focused on rookie starting left guard Jalen Farmer. Farmer will take the place in the lineup of Seahawks guard Quenton Nelson. I expect to see a lot of ups and downs but hopefully some promising play for the future of the Colts offensive line.
Defensively I’m hoping to see C.J. Allen make his first start. Reports were that he was slated to start last weeks game against the Vikings before hurting his ankle. He seems good to go for this week, so hopefully they leave the kid out, sink or swim. I’m also excited to see how Adetomiwa Adebawore looks in an expanded role, with San Francisco 49ers DT DeForest Bucker out of town. Adebawore leads the team with 4 sacks on the season (yes that’s a problem but I’m not talking about that right now) and he’s done it while playing just 36% of the team’s defensive snaps. His production will not scale with his playing time (I mean if it did we would be watching something truly special) but it will be great to see what this man has for this year and the future. One thing I am pretty sure of, Adetomiwa Adebawore is playing his way into a very large contract in 2027 and beyond.
Sorry I didn’t spend much time talking about the game itself, it’s probably going to go bad. No one is getting fired. The fire sale will continue. The season’s not halfway over. There’s still so much more suffering to do.
Prediction:
Jaguars: 26
Colts: 13
As always, go Colts.
