April 11th was already going to be a busy day at the JMA Wireless Dome, but now it’s going to be a good Saturday to plan on lunch and dinner at the Dome (maybe Syracuse can arrange for some food trucks on the Quad?).
Syracuse football officially announced that the 2026 Spring Game will be the closing act of an Orange tripleheader following two ACC lacrosse battles.
We haven’t received the official practice schedule, but this tweet might give us a good idea of the current plans. It looks like the Orange will start after Spring Break this year and wrap up before Tax Day.
We’ll have to wait to confirm more details on practices and the format of the spring game, but hopefully Syracuse comes up with some good plans to make it a fun day and encourage fans to spend 10-12 hours in the Dome watching Orange sports.
Football fans should be excited about their first look at the newest Orange including Calvin Russell and Amari Odom, but that’s a long day (thankfully not in the old, metal bleachers). Will we get giveaways? Perhaps some between game entertainment, or a post spring game concert for students? If you’re looking to maximize turnout for these events, there needs to be some work done to incentivize people to spend a Spring Saturday inside.
Stay tuned for more spring information as it’s released.
