By now, you should be more than familiar with our series of regularly updating leaderboards for various Marquette Golden Eagles sports accomplishments. Keep checking back to that link in the previous sentence for our charts as the seasons continue to churn through history and MU’s various teams continue to create new memories and accomplishments.
This time around, we’re going to look at the all-time leaders in digs for Marquette volleyball.
We’ve had over a decade of Marquette volleyball since Julie
Jeziorowski slapped together 2,209 digs between 2010 and 2013, and no one has come close to her. That kiiiiiinda makes me think that she might be untouchable as a record holder. Heck, the record she took down was Jamie Mueller at 1,567 career digs, and that’s a difference of more than 600. For context: Marquette’s leader for digs in 2025 was Adriana Studer, who had 401. Lauren Houg came along right as Julie J was a senior and ended more than 450 behind the record, although “played on JJ’s senior season team” probably held Houg back ever so slightly.
The name on the list that leaves the door open on someone taking a run at Jeziorowski eventually is Martha Konovodoff. She played three seasons for Marquette and had her senior year campaign swiped from her by the pandemic. To be clear: She would have had to demolish MU’s single season record of 641 digs to break the career record, so I don’t think she would have actually gotten there in the fall of 2020. However, eventually, Marquette’s going to have a high level libero that matches along with multiple Sweet 16 runs for the team while she’s in school. Four seasons of 550 digs — that would be #7 on the single season list, so not out of the realm of possibility — would be easy enough to do the longer the season goes for the Golden Eagles.
By the way: Shouts to Jamie Mueller. Back in 2006, she became the first player in Marquette history to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career, and she was MU’s first ever All-American with an Honorable Mention nod in her senior season. I just wanted to point out that Marquette’s record used to be held by a two-way player instead of a specialist, which is also why it’s interesting to see Hope Werch (outside hitter) and Yadhira Anchante (setter) in the list of the only 12 women to ever record 1,000 digs in a career.
Here’s the chart as it stands at the conclusion of the 2025 season.
