At Friday’s pregame press conference, Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany was asked about the status of star attacker Jamal Musiala ahead of the team’s match against Schalke 04 this weekend.
The boss said that the club is monitoring the situation and will make a decision on Friday on whether or not he will play vs. Die Königsblauen.
“He’s had a good, full week of training. Things are looking up for him, he’s doing well. We’ve already explained how we’re handling this. Jamal is in a good phase
right now. We’ve been dealing with the situation for a while now. We’ll see how he is in training today and then make the decision that’s best for Jamal and the team,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Today we will make a decision with Jamal with regards to how he handles the training session. Serge Gnabry will not be available this week, hopefully next week. The main priority is that he feels well.”
Fans will be eager to see Musiala get back on the pitch, but also seem to be aware that the Germany international will take as much time as he needs to work through this condition. Stay tuned!
