Hello everyone and welcome back to another round of Chargers 90-in-90s!
This is an annual tradition where we strive to bring you a quick screenshot of every player currently on the Chargers roster! Of course there could be a number of players to come and go over the next few months, but that’s not going to stop us from doling out these profiles!
Without further do, our first 90-in-90 of this year goes to rookie UDFA offensive tackle Isaiah World!
The Basics
Height: 6’5 Weight: 321 College: Nevada/Oregon Experience:
Rookie
Isaiah World grew up in San Diego, California where he starred at Lincoln High School. He originally committed to play at Arizona State University but flipped to Nevada by the end of his recruitment.
He played five seasons in college, spending the first four with the Wolfpack before transferring into the Power 4 to finish his career at Oregon. World started 49 games during his career with nine at right tackle and 40 at left tackle.
In his final collegiate season, he helped the Ducks make the College Football Playoff where they lost to the Indiana Hoosiers in the second round. Unfortunately for World, he suffered a torn ACL which will essentially force him into a “redshirt” season as a rookie with the Chargers.
The Good
World has the looks of a prototypical NFL left tackle. He’s got major length and is naturally a pain for defenders to get around. He comes off the ball with a pop and does not lumber when working into his targets. As a puller, he gets up and out of his stance quickly without a hitch. World moves fairly well for his size out in space and does not seem overwhelmed when connecting to defenders on the move.
As a pass protector, he knows how to use his length to alter pass rush paths. He can deliver solid strikes with heavy hands.
The Bad
World unfortunately needs a redshirt season in the NFL for more than just his injury. His fundamentals from a down-to-down basis are lacking and his overall skillset needs polish. He possesses many gift most linemen would kill for, but he needs to figure out how to bring it all together and hone what he’s already got going for him.
Specifically, World needs to lock-in on his landmarks when it comes to making and sustaining contact with defenders. As a run blocker, linemen can too easily dislodge his grip and shed him. In pass protection, his upper and lower body aren’t often in sync, leading to a lot of unbalanced sets that don’t often end well.
2026 Outlook
Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz essentially told reporters that World will use his rookie season as a bit of a redshirt, mainly due to the torn ACL he sustained in the Ducks’ CFP game this past January. He wouldn’t be back on the field until late in the season so expect him to be placed on season-ending IR right away to begin the year.
World’s outlook with the Bolts is as a backup offensive tackle. After the team’s pair of star bookends, they still have veteran Trey Pipkins and fourth-rounder Travis Burke. For the foreseeable future, World will hope to earn a spot on the roster as one of the last offensive linemen kept.
