With Florida State on its first bye week of the season, the focus for the Seminoles is staying (and in some players’ cases, getting) healthy and working to rise to the ever-elevating standard now in front of the squad sitting at No. 10 in the country.
“Embracing the challenge to take big steps here this week is critically important,” head coach Mike Norvell told local media after FSU’s practice on Tuesday,“ I think the guys have had a good mindset. I thought there’s some good work today with older
guys that had more game reps….[and] we did a little bit of extra with guys that are still kind of figuring it out and just continuing to grow with their developmental process. I thought it was a good first day of the bye week, and obviously tomorrow’s got to be a great day with the work that’s in front of us.”
He addressed the status of wide receiver Squirrel White and defensive end James Williams, both of whom left FSU’s 77-3 win over East Texas A&M with injuries.
“I feel good about where we are, right now I don’t if anybody’s absolutely out for the next game,” he said. “I’ll know more probably getting into next week, but nothing coming out of that game is long-term that we’re worried about.”
His full availability, as well as interviews with offensive lineman Adrian Medley and tight end-defensive end Amaree Williams, can be seen below.
