Major League Wrestling is moving its headquarters to the South. Say goodbye to New York, and say hello to Charleston, South Carolina.
MLW owner Court Bauer officially announced the news with Mike Mooneyham
for The Post and Courier. Charleston has a mix of soul, swagger and excellence that is a fit for MLW’s personality. Bauer explained the appeal of Charleston as the new headquarters for MLW.
Charleston has real wrestling lineage, and it also has one of the strongest, healthiest business sectors in the country right now. The city is booming — tech, hospitality, entertainment — everything is on the rise. That kind of ecosystem is exactly what MLW wants to be part of. Combine that with Charleston’s connection to Crockett, WCW and decades of Southern wrestling, and the decision became obvious. This is a city with heritage and momentum — and that’s a rare combination.
Charleston was an easy choice for us. The South is where the soul of wrestling lives — it’s where the sport hit harder, where gold and glory mattered, and where wrestling was a combat sport before anyone used that term. Charleston has that rare mix of old-school quality, creativity and grit that perfectly mirrors what MLW stands for. This city takes wrestling seriously. It’s part of the culture here, part of the rhythm of the South, and it deserves a league that calls it home.
MLW’s relationship with the city of Charleston kicks off Thursday night (Nov. 20, 2025) with the MLW x Don Gato Tequila: Live Special airing on beINSPORTS and YouTube at 8 pm ET. The show partners with another Charleston resident, Danny McBride. The actor is owner of Don Gato Tequila, which is made for cool times.
