PSG wants Olise (L’Equipe via Get French Football News)
Everyone wants a piece of Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise days.
Days after Real Madrid was rumored to want the Frenchman, Paris Saint-Germain is now — allegedly — ready to make an attempt to bring in the France international:
Paris Saint-Germain are set to try to sign Michael Olise (24) during the summer transfer window, according to reports in L’Équipe.
Although declared unsellable by his chairman, Herbert Hainer, the French forward, who is preparing to play in his first World Cup with Les Bleus,
has been the subject of transfer rumours for the past few days.
Whilst Olise’s name was recently linked with Real Madrid, the time has now come for the reigning double European champions to join the fray. Based on the French daily’s report, a sense of optimism regarding the positive outcome of this deal is even said to be emanating from the Parisian management.
This seems like another case of Bayern Munich needing to soundly reject an overture (if it gets that far), but it is clear that the global heavyweights are coming for the Frenchman. Olise’s current deal ends in 2029, so there is still plenty of time for him under Bayern Munich’s contractual control, but any attempts to ink him to a contract extension could be a little more difficult — and a lot more expensive.
Rumors were swirling that Bayern Munich would seek to get a new deal in place with Olise at some point in the 2026/27 season.
Núñez getting a lot of attention (ESPN)
Liverpool, Chelsea, and FC Barcelona are all keeping an eye on Al Hilal striker Darwin Núñez:
Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona are positioning themselves to sign Al Hilal striker Darwin Núñez, according to Mundo Deportivo. The 26-year-old could reportedly terminate his contract after a difficult spell in Saudi Arabia, during which he was unregistered from the Saudi Pro League squad in February, and he is hopeful of making a return to Anfield. Elsewhere, the Blues have identified Núñez as an option to provide competition for João Pedro, while Barça have previously checked on his situation as an alternative should they fail to agree a deal for Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez.
Chelsea releases Olise (Goal)
Speaking of Michael Olise, his brother, Richard, was released by Chelsea:
While Michael Olise continues to shine for Bayern Munich and the France national team, his younger brother Richard Olise is searching for a new club. Chelsea have officially confirmed the departure of the 20-year-old defender as part of a major academy restructuring, bringing an emotional 11-year spell at Stamford Bridge to an end without a senior competitive appearance.
Will Bayern Munich take a look?
Bayern won’t pursue Leão (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Bayern Munich was linked to AC Milan winger Rafael Leão last summer, but even though the Portuguese international will be leaving the Serie A power this summer, the Bavarians will not seek to bring him in:
Rafael Leão blows down the exit door at AC Milan
❌ It is NOT TRUE: Rafael Leão is an option for Bayern Munich this summer. There were talks last summer with the AC Milan player. Max Eberl, the director of sport, held talks with the Portuguese footballer at the time of the Nations League, but in the end, the club decided he wouldn’t be suitable for the dressing room (not a “Bayern-like” player). So, that’s why I don’t think he’ll be hot this summer. AC Milan want €50m [£43.2m] for Rafael Leão, and while that would be okay for Bayern, they have other options on the list who would be better suited as backups than the Serie A star.
United to take run at Hall (ESPN)
Manchester United could be a serious contender to land Newcastle United outside-back Lewis Hall:
Manchester United are stepping up interest in various left backs, with TEAMtalk reporting interest in three different options for the summer. Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall is reported to be the preferred candidate for the role, though his £80 million valuation could restrict any possibility of an exit. Elsewhere, Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown is also an option, though he has reportedly already agreed to a move to Bayern, and United could also move for Barcelona academy graduate Alejandro Balde as he faces an uncertain future because he has only two years left on his contract.
Real eyeing Calafiori (ESPN)
Real Madrid could be ready to take a run at Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori:
Real Madrid are weighing up an approach for Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori, amid their ongoing presidential election campaign, per Nicolo Schira. The LaLiga club have reportedly made an inquiry for the 24-year-old this week, with expected new head coach Jose Mourinho having worked with him during a spell at Roma and keen to be reunited. Calafiori played a key role in helping the Gunners win the Premier League title, having made 22 starts from 26 appearances last season, and remains contracted at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2029.
