Here’s how you’re spending your winter:
The Bad:
—Having both games against Duke being played in January seems silly and, assuming both teams are as good as people think they’ll be, bad for both programs as well as the conference.
—Having your two Big Monday road games come against Duke and UNC isn’t ideal.
—Getting just three home games from Feb. 3/4 through the end of the regular season is pretty brutal.
—What’s up with every non-Big Monday weeknight game being a Tuesday/Wednesday flex? This seems strange.
The Good:
—Being back on Big Monday three times this season, including the very first game, is a nice statement about the return of the program.
—Getting the West Coast trip out of the way first, and coming at a time where the team will be coming off a 10-day break, is very nice.
—The road opponents should be easier than the home opponents.
—Not having the random conference game at the very beginning of December is one of the biggest benefits of moving back to the 18-game league slate. That always felt out of place.
