Originally from Belgrade (former Yugoslavia, now Serbia) and became Raiders fan while I was still there in 1989 (came to US in 1994, now living in Brooklyn, obvs).

I just want to inform people on how does someone become a Raiders fan in Eastern Europe before the internet existed: I was a fan of Public Enemy (after hearing Fight The Power in Do The Right Thing) and Chuck D wore Los Angeles Raiders gear on the cover of It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back – which looked super cool to me. I wanted to know what Raiders were and started following NFL and watching games on satellite TV. To me, Raiders came before the NFL and mean a lot more than just a football team.
