The No. 1-seed Hoosiers are set to face off against the No. 9-seed Crimson Tide after the latter defeated No. 8-seed Oklahoma 34-24 on the road in the first round on Friday night at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. Indiana earned the No. 1-seed after beating Ohio State in the Big Ten Football Championship game on December 6.
The game will be the first meeting between the two programs in history, Indiana’s first Rose Bowl appearance since 1968 and its first College Football Playoff quarterfinals appearance. It’ll be Alabama’s first Rose Bowl appearance since 2023, when the Crimson Tide lost to eventual national champion Michigan.
Indiana will have a chance to earn its first win in the playoff in its second appearance in program history.
