The Los Angeles Chargers are just one game into the 2026 season, but they might be on the lookout for some upgrades across the roster.
The defensive line struggled minimally, giving up over 100 yards against the Arizona Cardinals, so they might want to add some depth to the trenches. Bleacher Report writer Kristopher Knox listed the Chargers as a potential landing spot for Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Solomon Thomas if he were to be traded.
“The Tennessee Titans acquired Thomas in an offseason
trade with the Dallas Cowboys. Adding him made some sense, as it reunited Thomas with new Titans head coach Robert Saleh. However, Thomas will be a free agent in 2027. After getting blown out in Week 1, it’s hard to imagine Tennessee becoming playoff-relevant before then,” Knox wrote.
“Thomas probably isn’t a starter at this stage of his career, but the 30-year-old recorded 27 tackles and three tackles for loss in a rotational role with Dallas last season.”
Thomas entered the league as the third overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft out of Stanford, just two picks behind reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett, who was traded to the crosstown rival Los Angeles Rams earlier in the offseason.
While Garrett and Thomas were linked at the beginning of their careers, things have gone in different directions for the two players. Thomas has made just 34 starts in 123 appearances, most of which were in his first two seasons in the league.
At best, Thomas is a rotational player in the NFL, but he is still getting work in his 10th NFL season. The Titans might not have much need for Thomas if they were to struggle later in the season, but the Chargers could benefit from adding him as a reinforcement behind Dalvin Tomlinson.
