Week 8 for the Cleveland Browns could be huge for this NFL season. The outcome versus the New England Patriots not only could decide what the team does at the NFL trade deadline but also could lead to
a lot of Mike Vrabel conversations if the Browns lose.
DE Myles Garrett also has a chance to pass legend and Hall of Famer DE Reggie White this week in an impressive sack milestone.
Cleveland has just two players listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup, while New England has just one. The Browns roster, especially on offense, is still looking for ways to make things work. It is no surprise, then, that Cleveland brought in six players for workouts on Friday:
- QB Seth Henigan – The Memphis QB threw for over 14,000 yards in four years in college, but went undrafted in 2025.
- WR Brenden Rice – Son of HOF-er Jerry Rice, the younger Rice had 11 TDs in his final college season, at USC and was a 7th round selection of the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024
- WR Eli Pancol – As a super senior, Pancol had 798 yards and 9 TDs for Duke in 2024, but went undrafted in 2025
- WR Dymere Miller – Played just one year at Rutgers, but had 757 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns in 2024 before going undrafted in 2025
- TE Drake Dabney – Dabney’s final year at Baylor, in 2023, was his best with 33 receptions for 552 yards and five touchdowns. Transferring to TCU in 2024 led to a paltry 19 receptions for 193 and going undrafted in 2025.
- TE Caden Prieskorn – With three solid seasons, combining for over 1,400 yards and 14 TDs, Prieskorn used his 6’6” frame to be productive, first at Memphis and then at Ole Miss, but went undrafted in the 2025 NFL draft
Of the above players, only Rice has seen an NFL with three snaps on offense and 10 snaps on special teams during a three-game stretch with the Chargers last year.
GM Andrew Berry tends to bring players in on Fridays who become signees later in the season. With an offense looking for answers, and the upcoming NFL trade deadline, Cleveland could come calling on one of these six players in the next few weeks.
