The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers will resume the AFC’s longest-running rivalry on Thursday night in downtown Cleveland.
It is also one of the league’s strangest rivalries, as both teams have rarely been good at the same time. The Browns dominated for the first 20 years, winning 31 of the first 40 meetings with the Steelers.
The 1970s were dominated by Pittsburgh, the 1980s by the Browns, and things have gone decidedly in Pittsburgh’s favor since 1999. Although the Browns have won four in a row at home
against the Steelers, and six of the last seven overall in Cleveland.
Thursday night brings a battle for first place in the AFC North Division, so it should be an electric atmosphere in front of the home faithful.
