The Miami Dolphins are into their first set of Organized Team Activities for the 2026 offseason training program, getting the players into offense versus defense drills for the first time this year. With a new head coach in former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley leading the way, the Dolphins are looking to rebuild the team after a disappointing end to the Mike McDaniel era in South Florida. A new year brings with it new expectations and new hopes. What will 2026 look like for Miami?
Today seemed like a great day to bring back an old favorite here on The Phinsider: the 90-in-90 roster breakdown. We will work through the Dolphins’ roster, taking a closer look at each player. That will include a look at their salary cap situation, a sensitive topic for Miami this season, as well as a review of last year and a projection for this season.
To start the series, we turn to one of the major focal points for Miami this offseason, the cornerback position. Our first player in the 2026 90-in-90 series is fourth-year cornerback JuJu Brents.

Brents joined the Dolphins at the end of the preseason when the Colts waived him. He appeared in the first seven games for the team before a foot injury forced him to undergo season-ending surgery. He has the size and the speed every team wants in a cornerback, but the injury bug has been the story of his career thus far. His rookie year included nine games played, the most he has played in a season in his three years. Miami acquired Brents after the team traded away Jalen Ramsey and saw Kader Kohou and Artie Burns sustain injuries. The team needed depth at the cornerback position and, until his injury, Brents provided that and more.
After taking a few weeks to get up to speed, Brents became a force on the Dolphins’ defense. He only allowed four completions when targeted in 2025, but, of course, that was in a shortened season.
Offseason moves
Cornerback signings: Alex Austin, Darrell Baker, Jr., Miles Battle, Marco Wilson
Waived: Isiah Johnson
Drafted: Chris Johnson (1st Round)
2026 expectations
Assuming first-round pick Chris Johnson is starting at one of the outside cornerback positions, Brents is in competition for the other spot. If he is healthy, he absolutely could claim that role and the Dolphins could see him break out. He fits the mold of size Hafley seems to want in his defense, and the skills are there. He could be challenged for the starting spot by Storm Duck, but if he is healthy, Brents is a lock for the roster and could be a major player on defense this season.
