There’s a Rolodex to flip through before head coach Mike Vrabel’s New England Patriots visit head coach Jeff Hafley’s Miami Dolphins.
Between the active rosters, practice squads and reserve lists, 11 players in the fold for Sunday’s AFC East matchup have been members of both locker rooms during their NFL journeys.
Here’s the list of former Patriots and former Dolphins ahead of the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium.
MIAMI
Jalen Reagor, wide receiver — Reagor joined the Dolphins in June and was retained
on the practice squad at its formation after being released in August. The 27-year-old wide receiver spent the previous two campaigns with the Los Angeles Chargers. Before then, he appeared in 11 games for Bill Belichick’s former club in 2023 and outlasted the initial 53-man roster deadline in 2024 only to be released, signed to the practice squad and then released from the practice squad. Entering the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the 2020 draft at No. 21 overall, the TCU product had been traded to the Minnesota Vikings before finding his way to Gillette Stadium. Reagor now stands 64 games and 27 starts into his career. He has caught 86 passes for 1,037 yards and four touchdowns. An additional two visits to the end zone have arrived as a kickoff and punt returner.
Caedan Wallace, guard — During training camp in August, the Patriots traded Wallace to the Dolphins in a pick swap involving a 2028 sixth-rounder and a 2029 seventh-rounder. The 26-year-old Penn State product had arrived in Foxborough in the third round of the 2024 draft class at No. 68 overall. He appeared in 10 games during his previous AFC East stop, starting a pair while going between offensive tackle, guard and jumbo tight end. Wallace has since checked into six games during his time in Miami Gardens, reporting as eligible for 14 offensive snaps while also working in protection on field goals and extra points.
Joshua Uche, linebacker — Selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft at No. 60 overall, Uche’s Patriots tenure spanned 76 tackles and 20.5 sacks. A season featuring 11.5 sacks arrived along the way for an outside linebacker who once lined up across from the red-sleeved Matthew Judon. After 58 games off the edges, the stay reached its end ahead of the trade deadline in 2024. Uche headed to the Kansas City Chiefs as a sixth-rounder in the 2026 class headed back. The 28-year-old Michigan alum moved on to the NFC East on a one-year deal last campaign before returning to the AFC East on a one-year deal in March. He has made five starts this fall and stands 82 games, 134 tackles, 22.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two recoveries into his career.
Amari Gainer, linebacker — Gainer signed to the Dolphins’ initial practice squad after being waived by the Patriots at the 53-man roster deadline. The 26-year-old outside linebacker landed on New England’s practice squad last winter and was retained on a futures contract following Super Bowl LX. Originally entering the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2024, the former transfer from Florida State to North Carolina appeared in all 17 games during his rookie year in the AFC West and was credited with five tackles through 328 snaps on special teams and 12 snaps on defense.
Marcellas Dial Jr., cornerback — Dial was claimed off waivers by Miami after being let go by New England leading up to August’s cutdown deadline. The 25-year-old cornerback by way of Georgia Military and South Carolina had been chosen by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft at No. 180 overall. He was the last selection left from that class beyond All-Pro quarterback Drake Maye. Dial would make 17 appearances and one start as a rookie while seeing 60 snaps on defense and 378 snaps on special teams. A dozen tackles and a forced fumble were registered along the way. But a torn ACL saw Dial’s 2025 season end on injured reserve in training camp. He has since appeared in two games on the other side of the division.
Tucker Addington, long snapper — Between summers, falls and winters, Addington had three separate stints with the Patriots from 2022 through 2024 as longtime long snapper Joe Cardona dealt with injuries. The 29-year-old specialist’s last came as a standard elevation from the practice squad before reverting and being released. Undrafted out of Sam Houston State, Addington has also been a member of the Houston Gamblers, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans and Washington Commanders. He has also been in Miami Gardens on more than one occasion, too. Addington’s NFL journey includes 16 games and a trio of tackles.
NEW ENGLAND
Ryan Miller, wide receiver — The Patriots signed Miller to the practice squad midway through October after placing wide receiver Romeo Doubs on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. The 26-year-old went undrafted out of Furman in 2023 and spent three seasons between the 53-man roster and practice squad of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being claimed off waivers by the New York Giants. Miller then became a waiver claim at Hard Rock Stadium amid training camp. He has played in 30 NFL games, including six starts, while totaling 17 receptions for 254 yards and four touchdowns. His most recent TD took place in a Dolphins uniform from 77 yards out in September.
Mack Hollins, wide receiver — Placed on injured reserve due to a calf injury in October, Hollins has caught 61 passes for 759 yards and two touchdowns through 19 games and 16 starts with the Patriots. The 2017 fourth-round pick out North Carolina earned a Super Bowl LII ring as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and was later claimed off waivers by ex-Miami head coach Brian Flores & Co. A Dolphin from 2019 through 2021, Hollins served as a special teams captain before making stops with an additional three teams. The 33-year-old’s NFL career has featured 228 receptions for 2,828 yards and 17 visits to the end zone across 131 appearances.
Julian Hill, tight end — The Patriots lost Hill to season-ending injured reserve in June. The 26-year-old inline tight end had agreed to terms on a three-year pact in March after not being tendered by the Dolphins as a restricted free agent. Hill spent the past three campaigns there while appearing in 45 games, including 26 starts, on the way to reeling in 33 receptions for 288 yards. The 2023 undrafted addition out of Campbell recorded 1,298 snaps on offense and 496 snaps on special teams.
Tanner Conner, tight end — Conner had been among a group of tight ends in Foxborough for workouts before signing to the practice squad in September. The 28-year-old Idaho State alum entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He made the Miami Dolphins’ initial 53-man roster as rookie and went on to appear in 33 games during his first AFC East stop. Finishing 2025 on the practice squad of the New York Giants before being released in August, Conner’s career includes 12 catches for 107 yards across 251 snaps on offense and 413 snaps on special teams.
K.J. Britt, linebacker — The Patriots reached a one-year deal with Britt in March and the veteran linebacker agreed to remain on the practice squad after initially outlasting the 53-man roster deadline. One standard elevation has followed thus far, spanning 14 snaps in the kicking game and a tackle on a kickoff return. Selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft at No. 176 overall, Britt stands 77 games and 16 starts into a run hat began with Tampa Bay. The 27-year-old Auburn product spent last year with the Miami Dolphins and finished atop the team with 76.9 percent of the workload on special teams. His career stretches 162 tackles, half a sack, four stops for loss and three passes defensed through 994 downs on defense and 1,303 downs on special teams.
