Now that the waiver claims associated with roster cuts are processed, the Seattle Seahawks can start to finalize their practice squad. A rookie sixth-rounder is making his way back to the team.
Emmanuel Henderson Jr. was drafted out of Kansas, recording a 4.44 second 40-yard dash at the combine and offering special teams and return versatility. In his draft conference call, he proclaimed that
“special teams is a big part of my game, with my wide receiver ability.”
Henderson caught four passes for 65 yards in preseason play and added four kick returns for 88 yards, and two solo tackles.
The ‘Hawks acquired the pick they used to draft Henderson from the Cincinnati Bengals via the New York Jets, when they dropped back 11 spots on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft (also receiving 242, used on Deven Eastern). The Jets ended up taking a guard, Anez Cooper (who was placed on IR) with pick #188.
Time will tell how else Seattle chooses to fill out their practice squad, with 16 traditional spots available, and a 17th spot for International Pathways Player exemption Federico Maranges.
