For the second year in a row, and third time in five years, LSU’s football season will conclude in Houston.
LSU will once again head to Houston to take on…well, Houston in the 2025 Kinder’s Texas Bowl.
Last year LSU beat Baylor in this same exact venue and this time around they’ll try their hands with the Cougs.
This year’s Texas Bowl is scheduled to take place on Saturday December 27 with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 P.M.
Houston’s got themselves a pretty good squad this year. At 9-3, Houston was ranked #21 in the latest CFP Poll, and while they aren’t ranked in this week’s AP Poll, they received the most votes in the “others receiving votes” group.
The Tigers and Cougars have only played three times—all three games coming in Baton Rouge—and the most recent meeting came way back in 2000. LSU won that game in Tiger Stadium 28-13 and have won two of the three games played in this series. LSU also beat Houston in 1996 35-34 but lost 20-7 in 1999.
This won’t be the last time LSU and Houston cross paths. The two are scheduled to open the 2027 season in NRG Stadium.
