The Walter Camp Foundation recently announced its preseason watchlist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year award, and Rutgers wide receiver KJ Duff was one of the names selected to make the list. Every year, the Walter Camp Foundation gives the Player of the Year award to whoever they decide was the best player in college football for that year. Their preseason watchlist contains the 50 players whom they believe are most likely to receive the award.
Last season, Duff made 60 catches for 1,084 yards
and seven touchdowns. He also ranked third in the Big Ten, fourth among Power 4 players and seventh nationally with 90.3 receiving yards per game and was one of three players in the Big Ten to total over 1,000 receiving yards. He even led the nation by making 22 contested catches according to Pro Football Focus. His best performance last season was against Purdue, where he hauled in six passes for 241 yards and a touchdown en route to the Knights’ win.
Since he had such a dominant year last year, it comes as no surprise that Duff has been named to several preseason watch lists, all- America teams, and top players lists, including On3’s, Athlon Sport’s, Sporting News ’, and Phil Steele’s all-America preseason teams, along with Pro Football Focus’ top 50 players for 2026 list.
