Dane White doesn’t know a whole lot about Tim Kennedy being shot during an ambush in the Congo last month, but the UFC CEO is hoping his former fighter heals up fast.
In case you missed it, reports surfaced last week revealing that Kennedy was part of an operations teams that was ambushed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The UFC veteran was supposedly there on behalf of Vectus Global to “protect mining revenues, combat smuggling and collect taxes for the Congolese government.” Unfortunately,
Kennedy’s team was attacked and it resulted in multiple people dead, as well as leaving three gunshot wounds in Kennedy’s leg.
Additional details have been scarce to this point, but Kennedy is reportedly in stable condition and currently recovering in the U.S. MMA reporters are trying to learn more about the ambush and the extent of Kennedy’s injuries, which is why UFC CEO Dana White was asked about the incident during Tuesday night’s Contender Series post-fight press conference.
“No. I don’t know anything about it or…,” said White. “Yeah, I don’t know about that. Obviously, I hope he heals up.
“Where did he get shot? Body wise?” the UFC CEO asked.
“Jesus Christ,” White responded after being told Kennedy was shot three times in the leg. “I wish him well.”
