Todd McShay has released his third mock draft of the NFL offseason
. He has the Los Angeles Rams choosing a top wideout at thirteenth overall in Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson.Makai Lemon of USC has been the most popular player for the Rams of late. There are concerns that Lemon may be too stylistically similar to LA’s star receiver Puka Nacua. In McShay’s exercise, Lemon came off the board two picks before the Rams were on the clock to the Miami Dolphins.

to fit alongside Puka Nacua and Davante Adams is a direction I could see Les Snead and Sean McVay going here. Tyson is a tall, tightly packed, and versatile receiver with dynamic route-running skills, and he vastly improved his contested-catch ability (66.7 percent contested catch rate and 1.6 percent drop rate in 2025) during his time working with ASU WR coach (and former Steelers great) Hines Ward. Durability will be the big question with Tyson, but when healthy, he’s the most talented receiver in the class.
Tyson’s list of recent injuries include major knee repair, a collarbone, and a stubborn hamstring. The prospect was not able to participate at his pro day because of the hamstring issue, which limited participation in his final year of college football. This is enough to scare fans off this pick, and there will be many concerned about landing Tyson over Lemon or others for this reason.
But the bottom line is—as McShay asserted—Tyson is the most talented receiver in this class. I’d liken him to a couple inches taller version of Stefon Diggs. The Rams need a true outside receiver that can win on contested catches, especially in the red zone, to keep Davante Adams healthy and rested into the playoffs. They also likely need to replace Adams after 2026, so why not bring in a rookie to learn under his stewardship for this season?
