The Portland Trail Blazers will host members of their star-studded 1999–2000 Western Conference Finals team next Monday against the Detroit Pistons.
Though the press release for the event does not specify which players will be in attendance, there are plenty of good names to pick from. The roster features numerous legends, including Damon Stoudamire, Bonzi Wells, Arvydas Sabonis, Brian Grant, Rasheed Wallace, Jermaine O’Neal, Greg Anthony, Steve Smith, Antonio Harvey, Scottie Pippen, and Detlef Schrempf.
Members of the front office and staff will also be in attendance. Throughout the night, the Blazers will display intermittent tributes honoring the players, team, and their legacy.
The 1999-2000 roster is one of the most successful in Blazers’ history, finishing with a record of 53-29 and advancing to Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals where some stuff happened against the Los Angeles Lakers (we won’t talk about it). The squad’s 4-1 Conference Semifinal win over the Utah Jazz would stand as the Blazers’ last playoff series victory until 2014.
