Good morning! Your hangover this morning is, sadly, not a celebratory one. It’s just your regular ol’ depressing weekday hangover, because the Red Sox failed to beat the Blue Jays last night, while the Astros put a hurting on the A’s.
The Red Sox and Astros have six cumulative games left in the regular season. Only one of them needs to go the Red Sox’ way for them to finally clinch a postseason berth and it’s more fun to clinch at home, anyway. Meanwhile, the question of who they will play (not to mention
who they want to play) is still very much up in the air. The Yankees, Blue Jays, Guardians, and Tigers all remain in play as potential opponents. Here are your non-Sox games to keep an eye on today:
7:05 PM: Orioles at Yankees
7:07 PM (what? why?): Rays at Blue Jays
7:10 PM: Rangers at Guardians
9:38 PM: Astros at Angels
Enjoy a muggy, false Fall day, talk about what you want, and be good to one another.
