Football:
FSU has offically announced the hiring of Deputy Athletic Director John Garrett:
“This is about putting Florida State Football in position to win, now and in the future. We are investing in people, processes, and structure that give our student-athletes and coaches every opportunity to succeed.”
Garrett will report directly to Alford, as part of FSU new operations model for the football program.
Taylor Edwards will serve as Director of Football and Player Acquisition.
But the biggest news of the day may be the announcement of Duce Robinson foregoing the NFL Draft to return to Florida State for another year.
Score another victory for retention as Landen Thomas is now expected to return to FSU.
The legendary Gene Deckerhoff is hanging up the headset; after retiring from FSU in 2022 and just calling Bucs broadcasts he is officially calling it a career:
Seminole Legend Ernie Sims is being promoted to full-time linebackers coach in the wake of John Papuchis’ exit to Missouri.

Zach Blostein of 247 is reporting that Hollywood Smothers, former NC State RB and one of the top RBs available in the portal opening today, is visiting FSU this weekend.
With the transfer portal officially open; rapid updates will be centralized here.
FSU is in a good position for Five-star LB Kaden Henderson but it will be difficult to keep him at home; he’s expected to visit soon.
