Indiana football likely has its quarterback for the 2026 season.
Josh Hoover, a junior quarterback at TCU, has committed to Indiana out of the transfer portal, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel. He’s rated as a 4-star transfer prospect and ranks in as the 6th highest-rated quarterback and 15th highest-rated prospect overall, per On3/Rivals. He attended Rockwall-Heath High School in Rockwall, Texas.
Hoover has spent the past four seasons with the Horned Frogs, redshirting as a freshman in 2022 before taking over as the starter
in 2023. He’s started ever since, passing for 9,629 yards, 71 touchdowns and 33 interceptions while completing 65.2% of his attempts. No quarterback will enter the 2026 season with more passing yards.
This is Hoover’s second commitment to Indiana after he previously committed as a high school prospect in 2021 under then-head coach Tom Allen and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Nick Sheridan. He flipped to TCU that winter.
He’ll have one season of eligibility remaining.
