The Dallas Cowboys are making a change with Christian Parker.
Jerry Jones made his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday morning and when he did he revealed that Parker will be moving from the sideline to the booth.
As ESPN’s Todd Archer notes, this is the same move that the Cowboys made last
year with then-defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. It is a common move among NFL teams to be clear, and it is typically one that is preceded by poor performance on the offensive or defensive side of the ball, depending on coordinator obviously.
It goes without saying that this is the case for the Cowboys. They had a historically bad defense in 2025 under Eberflus and at the very least the law of averages suggested that this year would be different. It has not been.
Perhaps this is what the Cowboys need. Maybe Parker’s perspective from above will help out. This is one of two significant changes the team has announced as it was revealed on Monday that they are bringing in Mike Pettine to join the defensive staff. Coincidentally these changes will first go into effect this week at Lambeau Field where Pettine hired Parker to join his Packers staff… the crossovers between Dallas and Green Bay are too long to list at this point.
Do you think this will help? Even a little?
