Today we are talking about Mizzou Basketball.
Mizzou fell in a more important game than some might’ve though, as the Tigers are back in the bubble picture per ESPN’s Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology.
Mizzou had been on a hot streak winning six of its last eight, bolstering its chances at an at-large NCAA Tournament bid, but with the loss a bid isn’t certainty.
The Tigers have one more chance ahead of the SEC Tournament to increase their tournament odds with a home matchup scheduled
against their rivals, the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Mizzou is in action against Arkansas at 11 a.m. Saturday with big implications on the line.

Mark Mitchell is carrying Mizzou Basketball to an NCAA Tournament appearance. After a 23-point performance on Tuesday night vs Tennessee and 17 points on Saturday at Mississippi State — Mitchell was recognized by the league.
Despite the loss, Mitchell continued his success scoring another 19 points in the loss against OU.
Who was contained? Mizzou’s own T.O. Barrett as well as most of the offense. An Oklahoma native, Barrett only had five points on 2-7 shooting and couldn’t finesse his way into the double-digit column like he’d done so many games before. He also fouled out, along with other backup point guard Anthony Robinson II, with a few minutes left in the game.

Did anyone else forget that Pinkel went undefeated at home during the 2003 season? I know I did. Obviously you remember the win over #10 Nebraska, but the other five games of the ‘03 home slate were Eastern Illinois, Middle Tennessee (in overtime…seriously let’s never play those guys ever again), Texas Tech (aka THAT Brad Smith game), Texas A&M, and Iowa State. Granted, the only home opponents ranked better than 70th in SP+ were Nebraska (27th) and Tech (30th) but, hey, undefeated at home is undefeated at home.
Drinkwitz has been impressive at home, but there’s plenty to talk about whenever it comes to big games.
Burns is just 1 of 12 on 3-pointers fired off the catch this season. And on film, the misses aren’t particularly close. Now, some of those struggles might be tied to a lack of playing time and translating that shot to the collegiate level. However, that’s also tempered by what we saw in a larger sample two summers ago.
Might just be me… But… These attempts over the past few games have been bad.
This season has been one of success and improvement for Tiger Style. Head coach Brian Smith had to weather an injury-riddled 2024-25 season – losing multiple All-American wrestlers in the process – to potentially send all 10 of his starters to nationals this season. The first test begins on Friday.
A lot on the line for Mizzou Wrestling as it heads into conference play.
Per Bracket Matrix, Mizzou is currently on the 9-seed line. With two Quad 1 games remaining in the regular season plus their SEC Tournament opener — there will certainly be opportunities for Mizzou to improve their seeding.
Things definitely change with the OU matchup ending the way it did. Goes to show how much this last SEC game means ahead of the tournament.
