The Philadelphia Eagles suffered their first loss of the 2026 NFL season on Monday night. Was it just one bad game or a sign of more struggles to come?
We’ll see how the Birds respond to getting beat up by the Chicago Bears when they return to Lincoln Financial Field for a Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Rams.
The Eagles are entering this matchup as three-point home underdogs, according to FanDuel.

began in 2021. The Eagles have managed to cover in just one of those five scenarios and they’re 0-5 straight up in those games.
Then again, the Eagles have gotten the better of the Rams for some time. They’re 10-1 against this franchise dating back to 2005. More relevantly, they’re 4-0 against Sean McVay in four meetings since 2023.
Of course, some of those games have been very close. The Eagles were pretty fortunate to beat the Rams with a Jordan Davis blocked field goal in Philly last year.
So far this season, the Rams have struggled to live up to lofty preseason expectations. The preseason Super Bowl betting favorites are 1-2 after dropping games to the San Francisco 49ers (who, in fairness, look pretty good) and the Denver Broncos.
But while they’re not unbeatable, there’s a reason why they’re favored against the Eagles this weekend. And it’s not just because the Birds struggled on Monday night.
The feeling here is the Eagles will put forth a better effort than he we saw from them in Chicago. But coming off short rest to take on the Rams is a tough assignment. Early on, I’m tempted to lean with the Rams in this game.
