It’s the dog (or Dawg) days of summer. And while it may not be, in the words of a classic country song, ““too hot to fish, too hot for golf, and too cold at home”, it certainly is a good time to catch up on some of the programming you won’t catch while watching Hawaii kick off at midnight eastern against some bleary eyed visitors from the mainland.
But there are so many options out there. If you subscribe to more than a single streaming service you have access to more entertainment options at any given
moment than 99.999% of humans who have ever lived had during their entire lives. It’s borderline overwhelming.
So Dawg Sports wants to know: what are you watching these days? For my part I’ve recently been working on the Hulu series Tucci in Italy, in which actor Stanley Tucci explores Italy through the lens of its eclectic regional culinary traditions. The scenery is evocative, and Tucci is in an ongoing contest with Michael Stipe to be the coolest bald man in America. I highly recommend it.
I also recently finished The Boroughs, the new series from Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers. The Boroughs could be cheekily described as “Stranger Things, but set in a retirement community.” That however would be shortchanging its meditations on life, loss, and how to enjoy the former while coming to terms with the latter. It’s worth your time if you’re a fan of supernatural spine tinglers.
What about you? What is occupying your viewing hours in the temporary absence of college football?
