It safe to say that the loan for Bayern Munich’s Daniel Peretz to Hamburger SV has not worked out. Now, recent reports indicate that the agreement could be terminated in January.
Sport Bild journalists
Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl are reporting that Peretz could return to Bayern Munich this winter and be loaned right back out:
Daniel Peretz’s HSV loan could be terminated in January. Peretz is currently #2 goalkeeper – and with Daniel Heuer Fernandes showing good performances, the Israeli keeper barely has any chance to play. Another loan move elsewhere in January is conceivable.
The loan game has been difficult to navigate for Bayern Munich with young players, particularly goalkeepers. While Alexander Nübel could be considered a success story for Bayern Munich, it is easy to forget once-heralded goalkeeper Christian Früchtl and several other youngsters who went out on loan, got minimal playing time, and took massive hits in with their respective growth and development.
Hopefully, the damage has not already been done to Peretz, who does not figure to have a long-term future with Bayern Munich and is likely being groomed to be a sellable asset.
Bayern Munich might be off, but the news cycle surrounding the club is red-hot.
There are some big items to discuss, so let’s not waste any time. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show:
- Did Harry Kane throw some cold water on the thoughts of a contract extension with Bayern Munich? As it turns out, the Bavarians might not want to pay him anyway.
- Is Max Eberl in line for a promotion with Bayern Munich? Would it be too much for him to take on.
- Hot or Not? Harkening back to some nonsense from the beginning of the internet, let’s determine an early prediction on which Bayern Munich players will be back for 2026/27.
