The Callis Family were rocking and rolling on Saturday night for AEW Collision (Jan. 3, 2026). They beat fools to a pulp and earned a shot at the TNT Championship.
El Clon opened the show in victory over Angelico via spinning torture rack bomb. The mystery man (cough, cough, Arez) looked good for his AEW in-ring debut.
Backstage, Josh Alexander went wild with a pep talk for Okada and Takeshita
at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom. He also hyped up Hechicero for the next match. This wasn’t all chatter. The Walking Weapon snapped an ankle of some local yokel, and Lance Archer tossed a man through the ceiling. For me, this was the funniest part of Collision. I love the intensity from Alexander.
Hechicero went to work against Komander. The prize for the winner is a TNT title shot against Mark Briscoe next week on Collision. The luchadores showcased their very particular set of skills. Komander executed the fanciest of arm drags.
Hechicero slowed Komander down by powerbombing him into the barricade.
That pain didn’t stop this rope-walking dive from Komander.
What did stop Komander was interference from El Clon. The Hologram knock-off ran in to shove Komander off the turnbuckles. Hechicero seized the moment for a snazzy roll-up on Komander to win. AEW made the TNT title bout official.
This will be a first time singles matchup between Briscoe and Hechicero. I’m looking forward to seeing Redneck Kung Fu versus Alchemist style.
