The Chicago Bears will take on the Green Bay Packers for the first time of the 2026 season this Sunday, and the first official team injury reports for the week have been released.
The DNP (did not practice) list was extensive today, including: OL Jonah Jackson (ankle), DL Grady Jarrett (rest), RB Kyle Monangai (thumb/toe), RB D’Andre Swift (hip/knee), OL Joe Thuney (pectoral), QB Caleb Williams (hamstring), and OL Darnell Wright (ankle).
Listed as “limited” for practice were: LB Keyshaun Elliott (quad),
LB Noah Sewell (achilles), and DL Shemar Turner (knee).
Both DB Kyler Gordon (calf) and DB Cam Lewis (hip) were full participants.
Obviously, this report is less than ideal. All three of the Bears’ best offensive linemen are listed as DNP (Thuney, Jackson, and Wright). Plus, both primary running backs in Swift and Monangai. We’ll have to monitor how things change throughout the week.
On a positive note, Kyler Gordon being listed as a full participant once again could give some momentum to the idea that his on-field return could happen soon. This Sunday is the first regular season game he is eligible to participate in after coming off IR, and the same goes for Sewell and Turner. Both Sewell and Turner were full participants in practice as the week ended last week, but took a step back today with “limited” designations.
For those who were holding out hope that QB Caleb Williams could return to the practice field today, perhaps at the very least in a limited capacity, that was not the case as he is still listed as DNP. It had previously been reported that he was considered to be unavailable this weekend in Green Bay, but his status is always worth monitoring as we await his eventual return.
As of press time, the Packers have not yet released their injury report.
The Bears take on the Packers this Sunday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI. The game takes place at 12:00 p.m. (Chicago time) and will be broadcast on FOX.
